Our physical world feels smaller today, and forever will, as we said goodbye to a remarkable woman. Beverly Blair Hamblen, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Forest Heights Senior Living Community where she had been a resident since 2022. In her final moments, she was surrounded by her devoted family at her bedside.
Beverly was born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Harlingen, Texas, the only child of Walter Alton and Carrington Elizabeth (Baber) Blair. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 70 years, Reverend James V. Hamblen; her daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Jeff Saint Sing of Winston-Salem, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Blair and Sandy Hamblen of Corryton, TN; and son and daughter-in-law, Scott Hamblen and Debbie Norris-Hamblen of Kitty Hawk, NC.
Beverly was a proud and loving grandmother and is survived by five grandchildren: Cody Hamblen, (Joslynn) and Hannah Springer (Ryan) children of Blair and Sandy; Jordan Serrano (Luis), daughter of Scott; Heather Ulrich (Josh), and Austin Munno, children of Scott and Debbie.
Her legacy of love continued through her 13 surviving great grandchildren who brought her endless joy: Braedyn and Killian Hamblen; Hattie and Wyatt Springer; Mason, Mia and Cameron Serrano; Destanee, Weston, Jasmine, Corbin and Beckett Ulrich; and AJ Munno.
Beverly’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and forever cherished in all our hearts.
