Betty Lou Higgins

Mrs. Betty Lou Doby Higgins, 91, of Clemmons, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021. She was born October 10, 1930 in Surry County to Clora Lowe Doby and Bina Doby. She was a longtime member of Clemmons United Methodist Church, a member of the Clemmons Civic Club and the Ladies Auxillary. Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Higgins and a sister, Mary Doby Bingham. Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Higgins Downs (Rick); two sons, Brent Jackson Higgins and Adam Doby Higgins (Jamie); three grandchildren, Houston Michael Downs (Sarah Grace), Cheyenne Schyler Downs and Noah MacKenzie Higgins and one great granddaughter, Cora Jade Downs. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. A private graveside service will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clemmons Fire Department, which her family was very involved with.
