Betty "Joan" Wall

Mrs. Betty “Joan” Jordan Wall, 89, passed away, Monday, July 18, 2022.  She was born October 18, 1932, in Cabarrus County to the late Joseph Edwin Jordan and Ava Compton Jordan.  Joan graduated from the University of Georgia receiving her bachelor's degree in Arts.  She was a lifelong member of Wallburg Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for 60 plus years.  Joan was a Postmaster and retired from the US Postal Service with 40 plus years of service.  She loved to help people any way she could, always putting their needs in front of her own.  In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jimmie” Wall; son, James “Skip” Wall; and brother, Jack Jordan.  She is survived by her daughter, Karen Wall Lovett (Gordon); three grandchildren: Christie Morgan (Jason), Ashley Lovett, and Alaina Lovett; three great-grandchildren: Austin Lovett, Hunter Morgan, and Noah Morgan; brother, Frank Jordan (Sheila); sister, Nancy Barry (Steve); and sister-in-law, Barbara Jordan.  A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Friday, July 22nd at Wallburg Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Wolfe officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the burial in the church fellowship hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wallburg Baptist Church, 5341 Wallburg Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
