Betty Ann Johnson

Betty Ann Johnson, born in Winston-Salem, NC on November 17, 1938, to Bertha and Louis Carter, passed away on February 6, 2023.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ruben Johnson; three sons, Dennis & Kevin of Winston-Salem, NC, & Todd (Joann) of Henderson, NC; eight grandchildren, Brittany (Michael), Devon, Zachary, Dillon, Mason, TJ, Austin, & Landon; three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Elise, & Adaline.

Betty graduated from Griffith High School in 1957. She married Ruben, her high school sweetheart, on August 24, 1957. Ruben and Betty enjoyed spending time together such as traveling, going to the races, and going to concerts. Betty was then blessed with three sons in which she stayed at home to raise and became involved in their sports. Betty also enjoyed being involved in her grandchildren’s life and loved spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 1:00 pm and a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home 3315 Silas Creek Parkway Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

Pallbearers for the service: Kevin Essick, Zachary Johnson, Dillon Johnson, Mason Johnson, William Todd Johnson Jr, Austin Johnson, Landon Johnson, & Brayden Soyars.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital or a charity of your choice.
