Betty Thompson Walker

Mrs. Betty Thompson Walker, 86 passed away at her home Tuesday, July 21, 2015. She was born in Surry County to the late Viola Cook Thompson, and Eli Patterson Thompson. She was a graduate of Mountain Park High School in Mountain Park, North Carolina. Betty was a beloved wife to Ed Walker for 52 years, as well as a loving mother and grandmother. She was a devoted and faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church for 68 years. In addition, she was a member of the Heaven Bound Sunday School class. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and five sisters. She is survived by her husband, Ed Walker; daughter Susan Willette (Gary); two grandsons Andrew and Charlie Tuttle; two sisters Hettie Lambert, Julie McCann, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 24 at Woodland Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, N.C. with Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 23 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
