Betty Burgess Stevens, 83, of Winston-Salem died July 12, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and was a member of Konnoak Baptist Church. She was born October 7, 1926 to the late Perry and Virginia Burgess. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Coy W. Stevens. In addition, she is survived by her daughter, Linda (John) Miller of Clemmons and her son, Tim Stevens of Pfafftown; two granddaughters, Holly (Michael) Groce of Clemmons and Lauren (Jon) Smith of Roswell, GA; two grandsons, Zach (Anna) Miller of Mooresville and Bret (Jennifer) Stevens of Kernersville; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Beulah Sutphin of Florida. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Terri Stevens; brothers, Rufus Burgess and Author Burgess and sisters, Ruth Cigliano and Ruby Myers. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday, July 13, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Konnoak Baptist Church with Rev. John Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Konnoak Baptist Church, 400 McLean Ave. Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
