Betty Jean Saylor Spainhour

Mrs. Betty Jean Saylor Spainhour, 82, of Tobaccoville passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at her home. She was born January 21, 1933 in Forsyth County to the late Maggie Chapel Saylor and Roy Saylor. Mrs. Spainhour was of the Baptist faith. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spainhour was preceded in death by her husband, James Worth Spainhour; one son, Roy Allison Spainhour; one grandson, Jeremy Spainhour; one sister; four brothers; and her step-mother, Stella Saylor. Mrs. Spainhour is survived by one daughter, Lisa Renee Spainhour of Tobaccoville; two sons, Ray Spainhour of Shallotte and Randy Spainhour (Lois) of Tobaccoville; six grandchildren: Jessie, Amanda, Lindsay, Ashley, Darrell, and Michael; and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with the Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 6 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
