Betty Marie Spach, 78, died on December 27, 2019. She was born May 10, 1941, and was the daughter of Fred David Spach and Margaret Snyder Spach.  Betty was a lifetime member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the choir and formerly the choir director. Betty loved gathering with her family to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Betty also loved watching college sports (especially Duke basketball and Ole Miss basketball) and singing. Betty had a unique and beautiful voice.  As young children, she and her sister, Peggy, frequently sang for church functions throughout the area. Later, along with Peggy, Beverly Miller and Beverly Myers, they created the Harmony Four. They continued to use their voices to uplift, console, move, and restore the people who heard their music. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Peggy Spach Sidden and Peggy’s husband George Alexander Sidden. Surviving are her brothers, Richard Spach and wife, Bonnie, of Winston-Salem; Mick Spach and wife, Myra of Collierville, TN. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Betty is survived by a special aunt, Elizabeth Spach Smith. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Allred officiating. A visitation with the family will follow in the Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
