Betty Joyce Grubb Smith

Mrs. Betty Joyce Grubb Smith, 79, of High Point, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Hospice Home of High Point. She was born July 7, 1932 in Guilford County to Charles Franklin and Mary Pauline Holcomb Grubb. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church in High Point. She was president of BGS Designs, Inc. and a retired freelance designer for Thomas Furniture Industries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman B. Smith. Surviving are three daughters, Pamela Smith Webb of High Point, Tamara Smith Walsh and husband Robert of Clemmons, and Maria Smith Harmon and husband Brett of Conover; one son, Del Michael Smith of High Point; seven grandchildren, Heather Walling, Lauren Dawson, Chase Walsh, Austin Walsh, Jarrett Harmon, Blaise Harmon, and Kylie Harmon; and three great grandchildren, Justin Barreiro, Riley Dawson and Anala Dawson. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
