Betty Jean Williams Royal

Mrs. Betty Jean Williams Royal, 75, of Winston-Salem died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 5, 1934 in Burke County to Cecil Lee and Arvel McNeil Williams. Mrs. Royal was a charter member of West Side Baptist Church where she taught a class in the children's department of Sunday School, and was a member of the choir for many years. She was a loving wife,mother and grandmother. Married in 1953 to Boyce James Royal who survives of the home. Also surviving are one daughter, Cynthia Royal and fiance', Don Smith; three grandchildren, Heath Petree and fiance', Jessica Graley, Hayley Petree and fiance', John Ledford, and Justin Royal; one brother, Kenneth Williams; and a daughter-in-law, Penny Royal. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Royal; a brother, Carlos ""Bud"" Williams. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 9 at West Side Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Dixon officiating. Family will received friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
