Betty L. Rierson

Betty L. Rierson passed away peacefully at Trellis Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Monday September 11, 2023. She was born on March 28, 1934 in Stokes County, NC to Horace Early Rierson and Mary Russell Rierson.

In her youth she enjoyed singing, especially gospel music, sometimes in a trio with her younger sister and a close friend. She continued to enjoy her love of music throughout her life. Betty was a loving and caring person. She was a caregiver for one of her sisters who was struggling with a terminal disease. Later she cut short her working career at P.H. Hanes Knitting Company by taking early retirement to care for her mother. After the passing of her mother she enjoyed day trips and trips to the NC Coast with some of her sisters. Later as her own health began to deteriorate, she enjoyed the company of friends and family, listening to her music, working crossword puzzles, and shopping on QVC.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Brother Robert Edward Rierson, Sisters Mildred Robertson , Helen Rierson , Rebecca Whitner , and Peggy Logan.

Left to cherish her memories are her Sister R. Earleen Rierson of Winston Salem, NC and her Brother J. David Rierson (Pat) of Lewisville, NC

A Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday September 16, 2023 at 2pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Reverend Tim Wolfe officiating. The visitation will begin at 1:30pm
