WINSTON-SALEM - Mrs. Betty Lou Grant Pinnix, 69, passed away Sunday, February 06, 2011 at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation. She was born May 27, 1941 in Swaim County, NC to the late Claude Henry Grant and Nannie Lou Dunn Grant. Mrs. Pinnix retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with over 28 years of service and was a member of Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pinnix was preceded in death by two sisters. Surviving are her loving husband, Wayne Pinnix; three children, Sherry Wyatt (T.W.), Susan Blevins and Wayne Pinnix II; seven grandchildren, Ryan White, Matthew Lappeaux (Brittany), Patrick Lappeaux, Emily Lappeaux, Rachael Lewis, Jordan Pinnix and Trey Pinnix; two great-grandchildren, Natalie Lappeaux and Grace White; and also three sisters, Josephine Denton (Jim), Rose Cranfill (Bobby) and Jean Land (Ed). A Memorial Service will be conducted 2 pm Wednesday, February 9 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Paul Dean officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 8 from 6 to 8 pm. at the funeral home.
