Betty Percival

Mrs. Betty Grubbs Percival, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at her home. She was born May 14, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Cromer Narvin Grubbs and Emma White Grubbs. Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and friend to many. Betty was a long time member of Tucker Street Church of Christ and worked for Hanes Hosiery for 35 years. She loved working in her flowers, sending cards to friends and church members, dining out, feeding birds and stray animals and also loved traveling. Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Odis Grubbs, Cromer (CL) Grubbs), Agnus Fishel, Hazel Fishel and Ruby Vanhoy. She was a devoted and loving wife to her surviving husband of 71 years, James A. Percival. In addition to her husband, surviving are her children, Susan Percival Huey and husband Patrick Huey of Clemmons; sons, James Percival, Jr. of Winston-Salem and Timothy Percival of Albermarle; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. Rick Mann and Mr. Joel Morris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Boyer’s Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery.
