Betty 'Blue' Pelfrey

KERNERSVILLE - Betty 'Blue' Pelfrey, 84, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Betty was born on July 24, 1927 in Roane County, TN to the late William Thomas and Delta Hamby Emerson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Pelfrey; and a daughter, Brenda Gayle Pelfrey. Betty is survived by a daughter, Cherry P. Carter; a dear family friend, Bill Hicks; a granddaughter, Jill McDonough and husband, Ben; two great grandchildren, Haley and Peyton McDonough; four sisters, Joyce Elrod, Laura Wilson, Pansy McIntosh and Pat Flanary, all of Cleveland, TN; two brothers, Buck and Kenneth Emerson, also of Cleveland, TN; and extended family members, Dale, Lois, Nathan and James Webber. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 - 6 PM, Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Cherry. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Pelfrey Family. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Hospice for their loving care, especially Dr. Gen, Judy, Jennifer, Roxanne and Marquita.
