Mrs. Betty Key Pardew, 81, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at her home. She was born February 2, 1929 in Wilkes County to the late Walter S. and Bessie Key. Mrs. Pardew was a member of Samaritan Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Key in WWII and Arlie Key and two sisters, Reba Giles and Edith Lyons. Surviving are; her husband of 61 years, Clive Maynard Pardew of the home; a daughter, Linda P. Shouse (Jerry) of Winston-Salem; a son, Terry W. Pardew (Cindy) of Mooresville; five grandchildren, Anna Pardew (fiancé© Kyle Whisenant), Abby Ott (Daniel), Amy Smith (Tim), Marnie Stoker (Scott) and Robert ""Bobby"" Nicholson (Laura); one sister, Nell Pepper and three great grandsons, Tanner Smith, Landis Smith and Benjamin Ott. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Roaring River, NC with Rev. Danny Smith officiating.
