Betty Shouse Ogburn

OGBURN KING - Mrs. Betty Shouse Ogburn, 67, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at her home. She was born May 9, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Paul Wilson Shouse Sr. and Clara Wooten Shouse. Mrs. Ogburn was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ogburn was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Wilson Shouse, Jr. Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, James T. ""Jim"" Ogburn; one son, Thad Ogburn and wife Becky of Raleigh; one daughter, Kelli Gordon and husband Jeff of King; three grandchildren, Jacob and Blake Gordon of King, and Parker Ogburn of Raleigh; three brothers, Greg Shouse and wife Martha, Doug Shouse and wife Ruth, and Tim Shouse and wife Jan, all of Winston-Salem; one sister, Paula Andrews of Winston-Salem; and two longtime friends and ‘sisters,' Betty Thomas of King and Jeanette Turner of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8 at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Childers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 7 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 725 West Dalton Street, King, NC 27021 or to Hospice of Stokes County, P.O. Box 10, Danbury, NC 27016.
