KERNERSVILLE-Betty Aileene Powell Munn, 72, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away Thursday, December 09, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 2, 1938 in Sampson Co. to the late Walter Thomas and Lillian Hines Powell. Betty was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program for several years. Her hobby was painting the porcelain and ceramic dolls that she made. Betty loved the beach, but her grandchildren were the light of her life. In addition to her parents she was precede in death by her daughter, Angela Rose Munn; her grandson, Bailey Munn; and a brother, Donald Powell. Surviving are her husband, R.N. Munn of the home; one son, Randy Munn and wife Diana of Walnut Cove; two grandsons, Logan and Landon Munn; four sisters, Christine Frederick of Turkey, NC, Ellen Smith of Jacksonville, Belle Staton and Faye Foster both of Archdale; one brother, James Powell of High Point; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Barry Clement officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:30 pm Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, December 12, 2010 in Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, NC. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association Triad Area of NC 101 Centreport Drive, Suite 130, Greensboro, NC 27409 or American Diabetes Association North Carolina - Charlotte 222 South Church Street, Suite 336M, Charlotte, North Carolina 28202, or charity of donor's choice.
