Betty Nash McDonald

Elizabeth (Betty) Nash McDonald, 87, of Clemmons passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at her home. She was born March 19, 1923 in Dekalb, Illinois to Louis and Dessle Nash. Mrs. McDonald was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt. She was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church and a past member of the Eastern Star. She loved working in her flower garden, music and dancing. Mrs. McDonald loved to travel, and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. McDonald and two sisters, Jeanette Saewert and Ruth MacPhee. Surviving are her children, Kenneth McDonald (Linda) of Kalamazoo, MI, Robert McDonald of Nashville, TN, Ronald McDonald (Lorraine) of Orlando, FL, Linda McDonald of Raleigh, NC, Tim McDonald (Janis) of High Point and Sandra McDonald of Clemmons, NC; close friends, Betty Barnes and Heath Normand; grandchildren, Valerie, Robyn, Stephen, Patrick, and Zachary McDonald, Nora Hassan, Emily Clee and Betsy Clee; one brother, Robert Nash; a sister-in-law, Alberta Pettus and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
