Betty Hege Long

Betty Hege Long, 83, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born June 4, 1927 in Forsyth County to Manie and Vera Campbell Hege. Mrs. Long loved her family. They were the most important thing in life to her. She was a member of Immanuel Moravian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Edwin Long; two brothers, Robert Lee Hege and Evett Hege; a son-in-law, Michael Wood. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Long Wood and Cathy Long McDonald; three grandchildren, Heather Wood, Jason Wood and Dylan McDonald. A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Saturday, May 14th at Salem Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
