Betty Agnes Glass Leslie, 78, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2023. She was born to the late Agnes Glass and James Levi Glass in Roanoke Virginia on July 1st, 1944. She married James Leslie in 1963 and they lived most of their lives together in Lewisville, North Carolina where they raised their four children: Denise Stout of Olin, Michael Leslie of Durham, Scott Leslie of Cary, and Sheila Leslie of Kernersville. She is survived by ten grandchildren she loved dearly: Kyle, Ian, Cary, Benjamin, Christopher, Asherion, Owen, Claire, Sophie and Keira. She is also survived by her husband, a sister, 2 brothers, an uncle, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty was very active at the Lewisville United Methodist Church, where she was a member for over 50 years. Wherever there was a need to get something done, she could be found leading the effort at church, at school, and at various charities. She worked for many years with Brenner Children’s Hospital making personal boxes of educational materials for children who were at the hospital. She also worked with Second Harvest Food Bank of Western North Carolina, The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem, Crisis Control, and Senior Services. Earlier in life, she had a passion for travel, often taking her four children on trips around the country. She could time and again be found corralling her children around the historical landmarks in Washington, DC and Boston. Later in life, she travelled less and focused on her grandchildren and charitable work. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel, 6685 Shallowford Rd. Lewisville, NC 27023 with Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Lewisville United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would love for donations to be made to Brenner Children’s Hospital in her memory to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, note "Brenner Children's" on the memo line of your check and send to: Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations, P.O.
