Mrs. Betty Lee Lawson Hodges, 93, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away on November 29, 2021, in her home. Betty was born in Stokes County, North Carolina, on September 5, 1928, to the late Gurney Gray Lawson and Alice Nevada Campbell Lawson. She spent the majority of her working life as a homemaker, spending many years with her loved ones. Over the years, Betty volunteered numerous times for the American Red Cross, as well as many Veterans Affairs Hospitals. Betty also enjoyed quilt making, as she quilted over 100 quilts within her lifetime, donating many to babies and children at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; Gurney Gray Lawson and Alice Nevada Campbell Lawson, her husband; Fred Arnold Hodges, daughter; Barbra Ann Barnes, son; Kevin Arnold Hodges, and 13 of her loving siblings. Betty is survived by her 3 daughters; Betty J. Morales (Mike), of Thomasville, Mary Ellen Jarvis, of Pinnacle, and Carol Lynn Templeton, of Westfield, 5 grandchildren; Marc Morales, Chris Morales, Candy Griffin, Tammy Tuttle, and Jason Thornton, 5 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A public visitation will be held at Hayworth-Miller on Silas Creek Parkway Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 2:00 PM.
