Betty Gail Davis

Betty Gail Davis, 76, of Winston Salem, gained her heavenly wings on November 29, 2023. Born April 25th, 1947, she was the youngest of four sisters.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10-12 PM Wednesday prior to the service.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sallie Lucille Helsabeck Davis, her father, Grover Worth Davis, both of Tobaccoville, and her sisters, Marie Cornelissen of Tobaccoville, and Helen Gordon of Winston Salem. Betty attended North Forsyth High School and began her career with Western Electric in 1969. In 1984, she gave birth to her son, Kevin. Upon the closure of the Winston Salem Western Electric plant in 1989, through a series of moves over the course of a decade, she was able to retire in 1999 with 30 years of service.

Betty is survived by her son Kevin Davis and his wife Allanna Lindsay-Davis of Winston-Salem, a sister Faye Lockhart of Tobaccoville, several nieces and nephews, and a grandchild to be born in 2024.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to a charity of their choosing in Ms. Davis’s name.
