Betty Nickerson Foster

Winston-Salem- Mrs. Betty Nickerson Foster, 78, passed away February 19, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born November 28, 1933 in St. Joseph, MO to the late Horace Wren Nickerson and Ethel Rose Nickerson. Mrs. Foster was a member of Pine Chapel Moravian Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Choir member. She enjoyed making quilts for family and friends and made over 700 teddy bears for the Winston-Salem Police Department to distribute to children in need. Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Foster. She is survived by her loving husband, Dub Foster; a daughter, Gail Fariss and husband Alan of Pfafftown; four grandchildren, Jason Fariss and Matthew Fariss of Pfafftown, Eric Collins of Winston-Salem, and Mary Collins of San Angelo, TX; a brother, Bob Nickerson and wife Olga of Florida; a sister, Carol Miller and husband Frank of Fairbanks, AK; a brother-in-law, Frank Foster and wife Dot. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Pine Chapel Moravian Church with the Rev. James Demby and the Rev. Norwood Green officiating. Burial will follow at God's Acre. The family will receive friends from 6:30pm until 8:30pm on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
