Mrs. Betty Lou James Fearrington, known by many as ""Tootie,"" 61, went to her home in heaven on Friday, May 1, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 12, 1948, in Forsyth County, to David Matthew James and Ethel Culler James. She was a former employee of Amp Inc. and Lab Corp. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Harrell James. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Steve, of the home, three sisters, Carol (Red) Hackett of Winston-Salem, Virginia Hodges of Yadkinville, Geneva (Joe) Fulp of Winston-Salem, special niece Melissa (Jeff) Cliver of Clemmons, and favorite nephew, Justin Hackett of Winston-Salem, along with other nieces, nephews, and relatives. Tootie was a very loving and caring person, always ready to help others who were less fortunate. She enjoyed outdoor activities, including camping, hunting and fishing. It wasn't unusual for her to out fish everyone around her. She loved her family, friends, and most importantly, the Lord Jesus, with Christmas being her favorite holiday. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, May 4, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home. A note of thanks to everyone for your love and support during these difficult times, especially Carol, Red, Henry, Margaret, ""Mama"" Peggy, Jan, Brian and Charla, Rosie and Danny, Brenda, Peggy B., Ed, Andy, Becky and Gene.
