Betty Sue Spaugh Evans

CLEMMONS, NC--Mrs. Betty Sue Spaugh Evans, 83, of Clemmons, NC, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Bermuda Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Evans was born on April 29, 1929 in Forsyth County to Walter Lewis Spaugh and Ethel Irene Brewer Spaugh. She was a former member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church and Clemmons Moravian Church. Betty was a current member of Friedberg Moravian Church. She was active in the Women's fellowship and Stephen's ministry at Clemmons Moravian church. Betty worked for Southern Bell and H & R Block. Preceding Mrs. Evans in death are a daughter, Susan Beth Evans, her parents, one sister, Etta Mae Kimel, two brothers, Herbert Brewer Spaugh and James Lewis Spaugh. Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband of 60 years, Earl Dean Evans of the home; two daughters, Pamela Sue Evans Orbison and husband Gerald and Carol Evans Huggins; two grandchildren, Jeremy Evan Deal and Danielle Lindsay Deal; two sisters, Mary Spaugh Foltz and Martha Ann Isley; one brother, Arthur Lee Spaugh; a sister-in-law, Dale Spaugh, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Friedberg Moravian Church with Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Friedberg Moravian Church Graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
