KERNERSVILLE-Betty Lou Meadows Eggen,79, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 at The Evergreens Inc. High Point. She was born December 12, 1929 in Guilford Co. to the late Colonel Davis and Ruby Pearl Warren Meadows. Mrs. Eggen retired after 26 years of employment with Avis Car Rental. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eggen, Sr. Surviving are three sons, Rodger Dalton, Sr. and wife Carol of Sanford, Gerald Wayne Dalton and Joan of Kernersville, Otis Gary Dalton and wife Deborah of Archdale; two daughters, Vicky Sue Weiland and husband Hank of Leawood, KS, Barbara Gail Shaw and husband Barry of Advance; one step-son, William P. Eggen and wife Teresa of Hollywood, FL; eight grandchildren, Chad, Emily, Adam, Roger, Jr., and Ryan Dalton, Nicholas Shaw and Elizabeth Parsons; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Davis Warren Meadows of Oak Ridge; three sisters, Anne Needham of Oak Ridge, Faye Barham of Summerfield, and Mae Stafford of Oak Ridge. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, December 4, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Roy L. Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, PO Box 533, Oak Ridge, NC 27310.
