Betty Doss

Mrs. Betty Lou Clayton Doss, 90, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020.  She was born February 9, 1930 in Wayne County to the late Reuben William Clayton and Eva Grubbs Clayton.  Mrs. Doss was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church.  She loved to garden, especially with her grandchildren who she taught everything she knew about flowers.  In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jesse Lehman Doss; brother, Reuben William “Bill” Clayton Jr.; and sister, Audrey Stoltz.  She is survived by her son, Kevin Doss (Lori); daughter, Karen Davis (Timmy); five grandchildren: Daniel, Ashleigh (Jon), Jessica (Chad), Clay, and Lauren (David); and five great-grandchildren: Tucker, Jayden, Jaxson, Ava, and Brayden.  A private graveside service will be conducted with Rev. Darrell Fulp officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
