Betty Jean Charles

Ms. Betty Jean Charles, formerly Betty Fish, 77, of Clemmons, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at her home. Ms. Charles was born in Davie County on July 13, 1937 to Harrison and Georgia Omara Charles. She retired from Polar Plastics with over 20 years of service. Ms. Charles enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, and traveling. She also enjoyed fishing and camping at the beach. Ms. Charles will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; and numerous brothers and sisters. Ms. Charles is survived by five children, a daughter, Janie Hobson of Kernersville, a daughter, Jeanie Ireland (Clint) of Winston-Salem, a son, Tim Hubbard of Winston-Salem, a son, Tom Fish (LeAnne) of Winston-Salem; and a son, James Fish, Jr. (Daphne) of Clemmons; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters; and a brother. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, 2015, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
