Betty Vance Cain

Kernersville - Betty Vance Cain, 80, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Betty was born May 19, 1928 in Guilford Co. to the late Elsie Smith and Crews LaGrande Vance. Mrs. Cain loved life and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, and retired from the Town of Kernersville in the Tax Department. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Lanier (Sam) Cain. Surviving are her three sons, Barry and wife Kim, Tommy and Wife Tawanna, and Sammy all of Kernersville, nine grandchildren, Thomas, Carla, Christy, Christian, Jacob, Justin, Jaret, Candi, and Kim, four great grandchildren, a sister, Frances Duggins, and a brother, Jay Vance. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Paul Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, February 16, 2009.
