Betty Warrick Burleson

Betty Warrick Burleson, born to Mallie Avery and Lela Langston Warrick on October 27, 1930 in Wayne County, Goldsboro, NC, took the hand of her Jesus on May 6, 2011 at 2:58 pm. She was surrounded by her family and the angels God sent to welcome her home. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 ½ years, Wade Daniel Burleson, Jr.. She also leaves to cherish her memories, two sons and two daughters. Juanita Burleson Brewer, David Burleson, Joseph Burleson and wife Temma Mabe Burleson, and Betty Burleson Collins ""Punkin"". She was blessed with five granddaughters and one grandson, and fourteen great grandchildren. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She was an AVON representative for 25 years along with her most valuable employee, her husband Wade. Also surviving are two sisters, Helen Warrick Collins of Goldsboro, NC, Geraldine Faircloth and husband Bobby of Durham, NC. She is also survived by many adopted children that she and her husband took under their wings over many years. She was well known for her wit, her compassion for life and others, and mostly for the love of her husband, family, friends, and above all, her love for Jesus Christ, to which she had such great appreciation for him dying for her to give her this eternal life she now has. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, May 9, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Pastor Brett Kitko of Antioch Baptist Church and Rev. Terry Coats of Spruce Street Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington, NC, officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
