Ms. Betty Jane Bruner 70, heard the calling of her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 16, 2009, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 6, 1939 in Amelia County VA to the late Roy Lester and Ida May Wood Bruner. Ms. Bruner retired from Sara Lee (formally Hanes Brand) and was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving are a son, Ken Love, and his wife, Sharon, of Johnson City, Tenn; three daughters, Pam Tanner and husband Patrick of St. Louis, Mo.; Angie Fishel and husband Gene of Clemmons; and Tina Porter and husband Bill of Mount Pleasant; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bobby Bruner and wife,Darlene; Charlie Bruner, and Harold Bruner and wife, Pam, all of Burlington and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving her long time companion James R. Mabe of Winston-Salem. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday October 19, 2009 at Friedburg Moravian Church with Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and Rev. Jimmy Newsome officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Sunday evening October 18, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friedburg Moravian Church 2178 Friedburg Church Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The Family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Hugh Wallace and staff and to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the care they provided for their mother.
