Fort Mill, S.C. – Betty Elliott Bearden, age 83, of Walhalla, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2021.  She was born December 13, 1937, in Walhalla to George William Elliott and Bethel Eleanor (Lee) Elliott.  Betty was the oldest of three sisters: Pat Lee, Joann Phillips, and Gail Ellenburg.  She and her former spouse Charles Glenn Bearden had three children.  She attended Walhalla High School and lived most of her life in Greensboro.  Most recently of Fort Mill, SC, she was a member of Doby’s Bridge Presbyterian Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Betty will be remembered by her partner, Cecil Reavis, daughter Lisa Sloan (John) of Lewisville, NC, son Jeff Bearden (Miriam) of Asheville, NC and daughter Julie Merritt (Brad) of Fort Mill, SC.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her sister, Joann of Anderson, SC and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her sisters Gail Ellenburg and Pat Lee.  A memorial service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2021, at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Westminster, SC. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. in the Heritage Memorial Gardens Chapel.  A celebration of Betty Bearden’s life will be held at Doby’s Bridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Mill, SC at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Betty to Our Daily Bread, 106 Jordan Street, Seneca, SC 29678 or to your local Hospice.  Thank you to Trinity Elms Health and Rehab Center and Trellis Hospice for their loving care and support during her illness.
