Mrs. Bettie Sue Hege Lanier, 73, of Advance passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Bettie was born November 28, 1942 in Forsyth Co. to Robert L. Hege and Jerusha G. Hege. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Dwayne A. Staley, stepson, Brett Lanier, and brother David C. Hege, Sr.

Bettie is survived by her husband, Wilbert Lanier of the home; son, Randy Staley (Sharon) of Clemmons; daughters, Donna Staley of Texas and Wendy Puckett of Sandy Ridge; sisters, Mary and Joyce; brothers, Richard and Bobby; stepdaughter, Rhonda Lanier; grandchildren, Stephanie, Stacie (Rocky), Zackary, Brandi (Alan), and Kenneth; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Braden, Ethan, Leah, Nicholas, Kaven, and Baby Staley; puppies, Millie and Annie; and numerous family members and friends.

A celebration of Bettie's life will be held Monday, August 1, 2016, at 2 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 31, 2016, from 6-8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their care of Bettie during her illness.
