FELTS - PFAFFTOWN Mrs. Bettie Aileen Flynt Felts passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at her home. She was born in Forsyth County on September 17, 1930 to the late Clara Bell Fulk Flynt and Ernest Flynt. Bettie was a member of Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church. She had a great sense of style and was always impeccably dressed. A marvelous cook and entertainer, Bettie's culinary skills were featured in a local newspaper. The daughter of a piano teacher, she loved music of all kinds. She also loved flowers, animals and beautiful things. She had a collection of dolls, owls and angels. Bettie loved to read and kept up to date on the latest biographies of historic figures, Christianity and popular fiction. She was loving, tolerant and saw the beauty and goodness in everyone. She was a great story teller and loved sharing humorous stories about her family, friends and especially her children. Always a peacemaker, Bettie was the life and spirit of the family and fought fearlessly to protect those she loved, her home and her family. In addition to her parents, Bettie was preceded in death by her dear brother, Carl Flynt. Surviving are her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Ed Felts Jr.; her first born, Sharon Felts Boles (Mark) and son, Gregory Duane Felts. They were the joy of her life. She always kept them beautifully dressed as children and educated them in Christian school. She was immensely proud of them and the beautiful, successful adults they became. She was proud of her daughter Sharon's skills as a business woman, homemaker and faithful church member. Her son Gregory was totally devoted to her well being and saw to her every need. They were constant figures in shops around town, restaurants and anywhere there was joy to be found. In later years, the two of them hosted a number of gala parties to celebrate her birthday and any other event that excited them. Bettie was also the proud grandmother of three beautiful and talented grandchildren, Joshua (Hannah), Daniel (Heidi) and Amanda Boles. She was joyfully anticipating the birth of her first great-grandchild. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev.
