Bette Jo Monk McCroskey

Mrs. Bette Jo Monk McCroskey, 77, of Winston-Salem, passed away September 29, 2013. She was born September 24, 1936 in Castlewood, VA to Bruce Howard and Sara Robinson Monk. Mrs. McCroskey was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Adult Ministry and Senior Adult Choir. She was also involved in missions and the ESL (Karenni Ministry). Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Don McCroskey of the home; one daughter, Donna Jo McCroskey of Richmond, VA; two sons, Jeff McCroskey (Dianne) of Chesapeake, VA and Craig McCroskey (Lisa Cornwell) of Northbrook, IL; ten grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Ted Monk (Melanie) of Winston-Salem; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 4 at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at the church with the Rev. Gary Byrum officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5 at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family would like to express their appreciation for all the prayers and visits during Bette's recent illness.
