Mrs. Betsy Parrish Sluder (Betty Jo), 77, of Winston-Salem, NC, died on December 7, 2024, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born in Winston-Salem on August 28, 1947, to Helen Crews Parrish and Kermit Swain Parrish Sr. Mrs. Sluder was a member of Trinity Moravian Church. She was a graduate of the James A. Gray High School class of 1965. She worked at Members Credit Union for 24 years before retiring in December 2012. Surviving her are her husband of 54 years, Paul Sluder Sr.; two sons, Paul Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC, and Mark D. (Angela) of Fort Mill, SC; five grandchildren, Alex (Janeleen), Jesse, Makayla (Jonathan), Catherine, and Zachary; a great-grandson, Jaxon Baldwin; two brothers, Kermit Jr. and George (Hazel); sisters-in-law, Pattie Shoemaker (Gene) and Marie Bartlett; brother-in-law, Gary T. Sluder (Lynn); and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sluder was preceded in death by her sister, Paige Parrish Inman, in 1973, and her brother, Tommy B. Parrish, in 2020. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Salem Moravian Graveyard God’s Acre, led by Rev. John Jackman, in the cremains area. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sunnyside Ministry of the Moravian Church, 319 Haled St., Winston-Salem, NC 27127; Trinity Moravian Church, 280 East Sprague St., Winston-Salem, NC 27127; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
