Betsy Peterson

Betsy Marie Peterson, 56, passed away on January 19, 2022 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. Betsy was born to Lee Crandall Peterson and Helen Gray Peterson on April 22, 1965 in Forsyth County, North Carolina.

She was a Department of Social Services Assistant with Forsyth County, and a lifelong resident of Winston Salem, North Carolina. Betsy was a graduate of RJ Reynolds in 1983. She truly had a passion for life and caring for others that were in need. If you were a friend of Betsy’s, consider yourself lucky. She loved planning parties, especially family parties for our father, Lee Crandall Peterson. He was her hero and protector throughout her life. She loved dancing, comedy shows, crooners, and a good glass of wine. She was the most loving, caring, and giving individual to her family, friends, and her animals. Betsy lived life every day to the fullest without worry of others opinions; she followed her heart. She loved her family and was very proud of them. She had a way to reach people in a deep and positive way, as she was a beautiful and remarkable human.

Betsy is survived by her mother; Helen Gray Peterson, her father; Lee Crandall Peterson, and 9 siblings; Gary, Pam, Greg, Mark, Bob, David, Steve, Brian, and Jim. She also had many nieces and nephews, and good friend, Paul Rogers.

A private memorial service will be held for the family on February 11, 2022 at Hayworth Miller, Kinderton Chapel in Advance, NC. A celebration of life for Betsy and Pete will be held at a later date for friends to pay their respects. A private burial will be held for both.
