Bethel Tuttle Whicker

Mrs. Bethel Tuttle Whicker, 88, of Winston-Salem, died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Whicker was born September 9, 1920 in Stokes County, the daughter of the late Jasper Tuttle and Adelia Moser Tuttle. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a member of Oak Grove Moravian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Whicker in 1996, 3 brothers, Roby Tuttle, Otis Tuttle and J.S. Tuttle. She is survived by her son, Larry Whicker and wife Jane of Winston-Salem, daughter, Hilda Beeson and husband David of Kernersville, grandchildren, Ladd Whicker and wife Amy, Betsy Southern and husband Darron, Amanda Horn and husband Mark, Sarah Holt and husband Thomas, and Will Beeson, great-grandchildren, Landon & Morgan Whicker, Emily Horn, Hastings & Isabel Holt, and Trent Southern. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Oak Grove Moravian Graveyard with Rev. Matthew Allen officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kitchen Fund of Oak Grove Moravian Church 120 Hammock Farm Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
