Beth Suzanne Fulton, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 3, after a brief illness. She was the youngest child of the late James W. and Ruth Harwell Fulton, and was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kent Fulton. Beth was a loving and beloved child, sister and aunt. She is survived by her brother Woody Fulton and wife Joyce of Southport, N.C.; her sister Jan Smith and husband Neal of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her niece Rachel Palisin, husband Luke and great-nephew James of Alexandria, Va.; her sister-in-law Kathey Rumley of Washington, N.C.; and niece Sarah Fulton of Raleigh, N.C. Beth was a lifelong Winston-Salem resident, and a gentle spirit with kind words for all who crossed her path. She grew up in Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, and later became a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Winston-Salem. Beth was a graduate of High Point University, and later also took courses at Forsyth Technical Community College. She had worked at various retail stores in Winston-Salem, and had served as a local hospital volunteer and a volunteer at the Shepherd's Center of Winston-Salem. She was an avid sketch artist, needlework fan, and beaded jewelry craftswoman; with passions for books, music, movies, travel and animals. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church (3543 Robinhood Rd. in Winston-Salem), with Rev. Dana McKim, minister to Pfeiffer University and pastor of the Village Church at Pfeiffer, officiating. Beth's final resting place will be with her parents in the Mt. Tabor cemetery.
