Mrs. Bertha Pardon Wooten, 97, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Guilford County on July 4, 1914 to Clarence Lee and Ethel Crutchfield Pardon. Mrs. Wooten was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful cook known for her Moravian cookies and cakes. Mrs. Wooten was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otha Franklin Wooten; a daughter, Frances Miller; a son, Charles; three brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Athan of Winston-Salem, and Betty Brewer of Wake Forest; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Pardon and wife Carolyn; and three special nieces, Connie Cass, Carolyn Snyder, and Bonnie Heflin and husband Terry. A graveside service will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday December 18, 2011 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Memorials may be made to the Kate B.
