Mrs. Bertha Marie Scott Grubbs, 76, passed away October 5, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 18, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Shirley K. and Rosa Branch Scott. She was retired from Western Electric and Vice-President of CWA Retirees Club. She first and foremost loved her family. She was an avid NASCAR fan and loved her animals, the beach, and traveling with friends and retirees. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.V. Grubbs; a sister, Mildred Cline; three brothers, Houston, Raymond, and Bruce Scott. She is survived by her daughter, Pat Teague; two sons, Robert Grubbs and Gary Grubbs; two grandchildren, Jeff Teague (Pam) and David Teague (Amy); two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Angel Teague; brothers and sisters, Garney Scott (Betty), Mae DeHart (Bill), Amelia Myers (Ronald), Jean DeHart (Joe), Don Scott (Sue), Sylvia Ann Stewart (Don), Linda Donley (Johnny); sisters-in-law, Gladys Scott, and Phyllis Scott. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Clint Branch officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00pm until 9:00pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
