Bertha Carlyle

Oak Ridge – Bertha Ann Willard Carlyle peacefully entered eternal rest, at home, Saturday, December 4, 2021. A lifelong resident of Oak Ridge, Bertha was born May 27, 1949, to the late Lucian and Mintora Williard. Bertha was a graduate of Northwest High School. She retired from Guilford County Schools where she made many wonderful friends. After retirement, she could be found outside working in her flowers or sitting on her porch, which she enjoyed very much. In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Carlyle; three brothers, Bill Williard, John Walter Williard, and Paul Willard; and one sister, Marie Morris. Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Scott Carlyle, and wife Jennifer; a granddaughter, Taylor and her significant other, Corey Soots; a brother, John Willard and wife, Joann; sisters, Janie W. Lee, and Jackie Williard; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Eula Quate and Debra Mays. The family is grateful for the care of Dr. Magrinant and staff at Cone Health Cancer Center. Special thanks and appreciation go to Maura, Debbie, and Hillary of AuthoraCare Collective.
