Berta Allred Rumley

GREENSBORO-Berta Lee Allred Rumley, 94, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Universal Health Care of King. She was born February 4, 1921 in Randolph Co. to the late Causey and Ednora Ferguson Allred. Berta graduated in 1938 from Gray's Chapel High School. She loved playing bingo, singing gospel music, cooking for family and friends and just being the sweet little social butterfly that she was. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Rumley; and brothers, Shelly and Bascum Allred. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy (Don) Reybuck and Sandra (Dan) Hatfield; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Betty Hartis and Dorothy Routh; and sister in-law, Winnie Allred. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 12:00 noon Friday, January 1, 2016 at Lakeview Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Camp officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
