MILLER RURAL HALL, Mrs. Bernice Elizabeth Milner Miller, formerly of Summit St. passed away Monday August 18, 2008 at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Miller was born in Canton, Mississippi on July 22, 1924, to the late John and Rachel Milner. She was the youngest of twelve children. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, a foster parent and had retired from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Buford C. Miller and a son Wesley Rondell Miller. Celebrating her home going are her daughters: Vernell Miller, Rose (Stevie) Sims, and Rachel Miller: six grandchildren Denise Martin, Derrick (Michelle) Martin, Kitra Miller, Sharita (Lamar) Harris, Andrew and Danielle Sims, two step grandchildren Vanity and Chelsea Switzer; seven great grandchildren Ronnie Martin, Jamea Hester, Breyonna, BreyNaiya and Brandon Harris, Donnavan Tucker and Jamora Samuels and one great great grandchild Mekehi McCoy. One sister Ruth Tillman of Mississippi and two sisters in law Helen (James Rawley) Love and Zelner Miller and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and two God daughters Beverly Mickle and Tammy Parks. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 3:00 PM at St. James United Methodist Church in Rural Hall with Reverend James Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. Memorial donations may be made to St. James UMC, PO Box 176, Rural Hall, NC 27045. The Miller family would like to express their gratitude to Oak Forest (formerly Oak Summit) and Karla Robinson for their special care and support. Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall is assisting the Miller family
