Bernice Sowers Mabe

Mrs. Bernice Sowers Mabe of Winston Salem went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday December 8, 2009. She was born to the late John and Frances Sowers on May 11, 1925. She will be sincerely missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Mabe worked at the Methodist Children's Home and in home health care before her retirement. She was also member of Hiatt United Methodist Church of Kernersville. Surviving Mrs. Mabe are two daughters Ms. Debbie Mabe Hedgecock of Pasadena, Ca. and Mrs. Dawn Mabe Barrow of Raleigh. Also surviving are two sisters Mrs. Dorothy Ketner and Mrs. Peggy Jeffords of Winston Salem, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel at 1:00 PM Friday December 11, 2009 with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.
