Winston-Salem, NC: Fischer: Mrs. Bernice Edna Fischer, 81 of Winston-Salem passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009. She was born on March 1, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to James and Alma Rousselle. She had been married to Robert Fischer, Sr. for 57 years, when he went Home to be with his Lord in 2004. She spent many years raising five children and now has six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was a retired employee of Thalhimers and a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the Altar Guild. She had a great love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Fischer, Sr. and two daughters, Susan Fischer and Denise Fischer Pappas, her parents; James and Alma Rousselle and brothers; Harry and Merlin Rousselle. Surviving are her sister, Dorothy Luther; children; Wendy Fischer Greve and husband, Lee of Lansing, MI; Robert Fischer, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC, Sandra Fischer Stewart and husband, Dennis of Winston-Salem, NC; her grandchildren; Scott (Jessica) Greve, Joshua (Danielle) Greve, Nicholas (Laura) Pappas, Brian Fischer, Paige Fischer, Jonathan (Emily) Stewart, Amanda Stewart; her great-grandchildren; Cameron and Noah Greve, Aiden and Hudson Fischer, Olivia and Ian Pappas, Matias Greve, and Grace, Jackson, and Lily Stewart. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, August 24, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church officiated by the Rev. James Knuth. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in Mrs. Fischer's honor to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to St. John's Lutheran Church, 2415 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103
