Mr. Benny Stoltz, 67, passed away October 15, 2022, with his loving family surrounding him. He was born July 18, 1955, to Joseph Benjamin and Lillian Marie Scott Stoltz, who preceded him. After graduating from East Forsyth High School in 1973 he began his career at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, retiring in 2012. His love of Gospel music allowed him to play the drums for the Nationaires Quartet, before starting his own recording studio in 1986 as JBS Productions. Benny is survived by his loving wife of nearly 47 years, Mechele Gilbert Stoltz; their sons, Bradley (Ashley) and Wesley (Jodi); grandchildren, Wyatt, Clara, Cora, Natalie, and Hannah; his sister, Sue (Tim) Nichols; and numerous relatives who will all miss him very much. God has truly gained another angel in heaven. Benny was a long-time faithful member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He loved his sons and grandchildren “a bushel, a peck and a hug around the neck”, taking the kids on gator rides around their cow farm, trips to Dollywood, and eating chocolate ice cream. He also enjoyed playing golf with his retiree buddies and traveling with family and friends. A celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Eric Tang and Rev. Bill Currie officiating. Interment will follow the service at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shiloh UMC, 6496 Baux Mountain Road, Winston-Salem, NC, 27105 or to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
