Benny Mitchell Church

CHURCH TOBACCOVILLE, Mr. Benny Mitchell Church, 71, of Tobaccoville, passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at WFU Baptist Medical Center. Benny was born on October 29, 1937 the son of the late Ray and Hazel Church. Benny will be missed by many. He was a loving, kind and tender hearted man. Benny touched many lives and loved the Gideon Ministry. He was a faithful Gideon always going about His Father's business of giving and distributing God's Holy Word, the Bible. Benny was a faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Interstate Truck Sales in Winston-Salem. Benny was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Phyllis Gordon Church and his sister Mrs. Jewell McInnis. Surviving is his wife Mrs. Evelyn Hicks Church of the home, a daughter Cathy (Rodney) Shallow of Germanton, a son Ricky Church of Walnut Cove, a grandson Mitchel (Allison) Church of Germanton, a granddaughter Maggie Jo Church, four step-children Sandra (Michael) Pettus of Davidson, Robyn Hicks of Winston-Samel, Randy (Jennifer) Hicks of Pinnacle and Joshua (Brandy) Hicks of Pinnacle, nine step-grandchildren and his brother-in-law Bill McInnis of High Point. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Friday, September 4, 2009 at Woodland Baptist Church in Winston-Salem with Rev. Tim Gammons, Brother Don Collins, Mr. Ralph Davis and Mr. Mitchell Church officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The Church family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, September 3, 2009 in the sanctuary of Woodland Baptist Church.
