Mr. Bennett Paul Williamson, 71, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at his home. He was born in Forsyth County on September 2, 1946 to the late Thomas Franklin Williamson, Jr. and Katherine Deese Williamson. Mr. Williamson served in the U.S. Air Force with the Strategic Air Command during the Vietnam War. He served as Police Chief in Ray City, GA and later worked for Beroth Oil Company. He enjoyed classic cars and even restoring them. Most importantly he was a devout member of Temple Baptist Church, hosting many missionary families and providing support to their ministries. Preceding him in death was a grandson, Elijah Paul Williamson. Surviving is his loving wife of 42 years, Melanie Williamson; son, Tom Williamson and wife, Deanna; daughter, Kimberly Stewart and husband, James; the light of his life his five grandchildren, Matthew, Noelle, Nolan, Levi, and Kennedy; two sisters, Katie Williamson and Carolyn Belton and husband, Jerry; loving Aunt, Carolyn Williamson Perez and husband, Fernando; also surviving are several cousins and one nephew. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church in Lewisville with Pastor Josh Boles officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.
