Mr. Ben Joseph Fansler, Jr. passed away at his home, November 7, 2012. He was born December 15, 1922 to Ben J. Fansler, Sr. and Tensie Rhodes Fansler in Forsyth County. Mr. Fansler was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Bahnson Company for 40+ years. After retiring, he became an avid gardener and fisherman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fansler was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda White Fansler; and sister, Hazel Wood. Survivors include his children, Richard Fansler (Judy Carter), Keith Fansler (Angie), and Judy Sink (Randy); grandchildren, Greg, Bryan, Andrew, Daniel, Benjamin, Kerri, and Kimberly; great grandchildren, Ashley, Riley, and Liv; as well as special neighbors, Butch and Margaret Warren. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. John Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midway United Methodist Church Emergency Fund, 9795 Old U.S. 52, Lexington, NC 27295.
